In keeping with the company philosophy, the renovation of the company’s own office building provided an opportunity to study and employ new building technologies. Planning was conducted with BIM. A particular challenge was presented by the tight space constraints. The new building shell, a homogeneous, polyvalent glass façade, has a minimal construction depth. The opaque elements are covered with PV panels and the transparent parts consist of tintable glass (SageGlass). A PV panel system on the roof supplements the in-house energy production. As part of the planned district grid, cooling will eventually be done with lake water.
