Open competition

The new cantonal and vocational school for around 2,000 students is being built on a former industrial site on the shores of Lake Zurich. The centerpiece of the new complex is the central square, which opens onto the lakeside park. Both schools are organized as compact building complexes that are characterized by short distances and promote spontaneous interaction between students and teachers. The cantonal school is located in the east of the site, where the two existing longitudinal buildings are connected by a transparent hall structure to form a U-shape. The vocational school is located in a new building in the western area and contains the assembly hall, which opens onto the central square.
