Extension and addition of storeys to the former warehouse for a variety of uses such as living, working commercial, catering, culture and education.

The former Attisholz cellulose factory is now one of the largest development sites in Switzerland. A former warehouse, which stands directly on the banks of the River Aare, is being extended and serves as the base for an additional storey. In the base area there is space for a theatre, restaurants, offices and living space. A new mezzanine floor and a green roof garden form the transition to the higher flats, which are divided into three structures. Their exterior walls are made of prefabricated wooden elements clad in bordeaux red, corrugated aluminium sheeting. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer unique views over the Aare or into the Jura.
