Planning 2023-2024 / Construction 2025-2027

Surrounded by greenery, the Hurdäckerstrasse residential development is located on the outskirts of Zurich. The buildings, characterised by numerous projections and recesses as well as a differentiated height development, are carefully integrated into the village surroundings. The six houses form two rows of different lengths, which run parallel to the slope and between which the landscape space flows into the settlement. Perpendicular to the slope, the pergola-shaped passages provide views and permeability and become semi-private places to spend time.
At the southern corners of the building, the private balconies are stacked upwards and, like the base storeys, are made of concrete. The façades of the upper floors are clad in bronze-coloured, ribbed sheet metal. From the spacious living rooms of the 60 owner-occupied flats, you can look out over meadows and fields or into the green spaces in between, whose species-rich planting is inspired by the nearby cultivated landscape. Floor-to-ceiling windows in all rooms create direct links to the green surroundings.
To the south of the property is a listed barn, which has been professionally renovated and converted into a communal space. Together with a spacious outdoor lounge and a playground, this will create a meeting place for all residents.
