A new centre has been created in the heart of Männedorf, including a parish centre with a community hall, commercial building and shopping centre. The ensemble fits into the structure of the village and responds to the hillside location and nearby lake. The group consists of detached buildings, which allows them to be concentrated in places whilst also creating squares and a fragmentary urban feel. The ‘Leue Platz’ square sits in the centre of the site, bordering all three buildings. It forms the focal point for public life and the site’s network of paths.
